Butterfingers - A funny story

Good afternoon everybody!  I just reread my first 2 blogs.  They were full of grammatical errors!  Oops...Plus, the English Professor/Master Chef I live with pointed out a few.   She is known to the rest of the world as Haley.  I guess I need a proofreader..Anyway......

About a month ago, I found a recipe for Butterfinger cake on Pinterest.  It sounded good, so I printed it out.  Butterfinger is Damon's favorite candy bar so I thought I would try the cake for him.  It's funny that I didn't think of the story I'm about to tell you right away.  It came to me Monday night. It is one of those things that could only happen to me!

About 20 years ago, I was out for the evening with my dear friend Cynthia. It was a late chilly fall evening.  As we were driving  home, we decided to stop to get something to eat at Hardee's.  Anybody remember Hardee's?? That was probably our first mistake...  I forget what I ate, but I do remember the butterfinger milkshake.  That was my second mistake...(and the biggest) Hey, it sounded good at the time.  We ate and hit the road for home.  Me with my milkshake in tow.

There was a popular risque' song on the radio back then....It went something like "One, Two, something something,  Three, Four, on the floor, and so on....I bet my friend Jeff could find out what it was called.  It was playing,C was laughing,. I was laughing, choking, laughing.  It wasn't pretty.  Needless to say, they butterfinger milkshake did not stay down.  Oh, how I wish it had.  Cynthia made me put the car window down all the way home.  I'm sorry again C!  Thank God for our good friend Jamie who cleaned the car the next day.  I forget how we got him to agree to do that....But thank you Jamie!  I probably haven't seen him in 19 years.  But  who can blame him?

This little story should give you some insight into the messes I can get into and the friends who love me anyway.... And if you were to ever meet Cynthia, she would delight  in telling you the story of the "Pot Roast Panties"!  It's a classic!

In closing tonight, let me recap.  I haven't made the Butterfinger cake yet (and after telling this story, maybe I shouldn't.)  I'll let you know if I do, and most  importantly.....NEVER, EVER order a Butterfinger milkshake....no matter how good it sounds.

Good night everybody!  J
